Where can you fly from Bratislava? Complete overview of destinations for summer 2026
Bratislava airport has transformed in recent years into something we couldn't have imagined ten years ago. More than seventy direct routes, four regular airlines, Greek islands, Turkish riviera, London and Tel Aviv - all from a small airport on the outskirts of the city where just recently only a few charters to Egypt used to fly.
Summer 2026 brings a record offer. Ryanair confirmed 33 regular routes, Wizz Air adds novelties like Mykonos or Nice, Pegasus Airlines expands Turkish offer with Antalya and from Bratislava you can get directly to Dubai, Hurghada or Georgian Kutaisi. Let's see what awaits you.
Spain - from beaches to tapas bars
Spain is more accessible from Bratislava than ever before. Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga and Palma de Mallorca - four major destinations served by both Ryanair and Wizz Air, which means competitive prices and flights almost every day.
Alicante and Malaga are classics for those who want sea, sun and reasonable prices. Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol offer kilometers of sandy beaches, warm sea from May to October and Spanish atmosphere without having to fight crowds in Barcelona. Menus with menu del día priced at 10-12 euros, a glass of wine for two euros and temperatures that make Slovak spring look like a joke.
Barcelona is a different league - it's a city where you go to live for a few days. Gaudí's architecture, El Born streets, tapas at La Boqueria and Barceloneta beach where you can swim from May. From Bratislava you fly there in less than three hours.
And then there's Palma de Mallorca. An island that most people associate with German tourists and all-inclusive hotels, but reality is completely different. Serra de Tramuntana on the northwest coast is among the most beautiful mountain sceneries in the entire Mediterranean, the town of Valldemossa looks like from a painting and Palma itself is an elegant city with Gothic cathedral and excellent gastronomy.
For the more adventurous there's Lanzarote - a volcanic island in the Canary Islands where Ryanair flies seasonally. Lunar landscape, black beaches and year-round temperatures around 22 degrees.
Italy - seven destinations for every taste
Italy has the best coverage from Bratislava of all countries. Seven direct routes spread from north to south give enormous possibilities.
Milan is the gateway to northern Italy. Fashion, design, aperitivo in Navigli and from there an hour by train to Lake Como or Verona. Rome via Ciampino (Ryanair) or Fiumicino (Wizz Air) - the eternal city where at every step you encounter something worth photographing, eating or just admiring.
Naples is raw, loud and absolutely unforgettable. The world's best pizza (yes, really), Pompeii within reach, Amalfi Coast an hour by bus and island of Capri by ferry. From Bratislava both Ryanair and Wizz Air fly here.
Sicily has three entry points - Palermo, Trapani and Lamezia Terme (technically Calabria, but close to Sicily by ferry). Palermo is chaotic, colorful and the food there is sinfully good. Pisa for those who want Tuscany. Bari for Puglia - whitewashed towns, olive groves and orecchiette with broccoli rabe for five euros.
And for lovers of smaller islands there's Sardinian Alghero - a Catalan town on the northwest coast of Sardinia with turquoise water and coral reefs.
Greece - islands and mainland
Greece from Bratislava is exceptionally well covered in summer 2026. Athens flies year-round with both Ryanair and Wizz Air, which means cheap tickets almost every day. From Athens you can then reach practically any Greek island by ferry.
But why transfer when you have direct flights? Corfu on the west coast is a green island with Venetian architecture and bays where water changes color from emerald to sapphire. Skiathos in the Aegean Sea is a small island with Lalaria beach, which is among the most photographed in all of Greece.
A novelty of summer 2026 is Mykonos with Wizz Air. An island that most people associate with party scene and luxury, but outside peak season also offers quiet beaches and Cycladic architecture at reasonable prices. Direct flight from Bratislava is a game changer - until now you had to fly via Athens.
Thessaloniki is Greece's second largest city and gateway to northern Greece. Excellent food (perhaps the best in all of Greece), White Tower on the promenade, traditional tavernas in Ladadika district and from there by car to Chalkidiki - three "fingers" of peninsula with beaches where water is cleaner than in a pool.
Smartwings complete the offer with charter flights to Heraklion (Crete), Rhodes and Zakynthos - three major holiday destinations for those who prefer package tours.
Turkey - new force from Bratislava
Turkey becomes one of the most interesting destinations from Bratislava in 2026. Until now Istanbul was the only year-round route via Pegasus Airlines (Sabiha Gökçen airport on the Asian side). From April 2026 Pegasus adds Antalya - direct flight to Turkish riviera.
Istanbul is a city of two continents where minarets mix with skyscrapers and where you pay a quarter for dinner in a local restaurant compared to Bratislava. Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, ferry on the Bosphorus - and all this for the price of a ticket that wouldn't get you to a neighboring city in another country.
Antalya is the gateway to Turkish riviera - hundreds of kilometers of coastline with all-inclusive hotels, ancient ruins and turquoise water. Side, Alanya, Belek - these are places where Slovaks have been going by bus since time immemorial, now you can get there in three hours by plane.
Ryanair also adds Dalaman on the southwest coast - gateway to the Fethiye, Ölüdeniz area and the famous Lycian Way.
United Kingdom - London and beyond
London is covered from Bratislava by two airports. Ryanair flies to Stansted (northeast of London, train to center 45 minutes) and Wizz Air to Luton (north of London, similar distance). Both flights are price attractive, especially when buying in advance - tickets under 30 euros one way are not exceptional.
Manchester and Leeds-Bradford are interesting for those who have family or friends in England. Edinburgh is a completely different experience - Scottish metropolis with castle on rock, whisky bars on Royal Mile and dramatic landscape within reach. And Dublin - city where Guinness beer tastes better than anywhere else in the world.
Germany, France and Benelux countries
Berlin with Wizz Air is probably the cheapest way to get to the German metropolis - creative city where history meets underground culture. Dortmund is a practical entry point to the Rhine region also for those traveling for work or family.
A novelty of summer 2026 is Nice with Wizz Air. French Riviera by direct flight from Bratislava - this hasn't been here before. Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Saint-Tropez - all within reach. Basel in Switzerland is gateway to the tri-border area Switzerland-France-Germany and surprisingly interesting city with excellent gastronomy.
Brussels-Charleroi (Ryanair) and Eindhoven (Ryanair) cover Belgium and southern Netherlands. From Charleroi you get to Brussels center by bus in an hour, from Eindhoven to Amsterdam by train in an hour and a half.
Balkans and Eastern Europe
This is an area where Wizz Air dominates and where tickets are often incredibly cheap. Tirana in Albania is one of the most dynamic cities in the Balkans - colorful buildings, lively café culture and Albanian riviera a few hours south by car. Prishtina, Skopje, Ohrid, Niš, Tuzla - these are connections that serve mainly diaspora communities, but also offer interesting and very affordable destinations for travelers.
Sofia is gateway to Bulgaria - Plovdiv and Varna are within reach. Bucharest in Romania, Chișinău in Moldova and Kutaisi in Georgia complete the offer for those who want to discover less traditional destinations.
Specialties - Dubai, Hurghada and beyond
Smartwings flies from Bratislava directly to Dubai - this is something that would have sounded like a joke a few years ago. Direct flight to luxurious emirate where temperature in winter (when it's worth going there) doesn't drop below 25 degrees.
Air Cairo provides connection to Hurghada - Egyptian Red Sea resort popular especially for diving, snorkeling and all-inclusive hotels for a fraction of the price of comparable stay in Europe.
And for more adventurous natures there's Kutaisi in Georgia with Wizz Air - country where oriental hospitality meets European foundation, wine is made in clay amphoras and food is so good it would deserve its own article.
New routes of summer 2026 - what's fresh
Several routes of summer 2026 are completely new or renewed and worth highlighting:
Wizz Air to Mykonos is probably the biggest novelty of the season. Direct flight to iconic Greek island without transferring via Athens changes the game rules. Nice on French Riviera is another long-awaited route. And Pegasus Airlines expansion with Antalya means Turkish riviera is finally accessible by direct flight for reasonable money.
